China

I thought about New York when I was writing about China. I remembered in 2012 or 2011 I started to read the New Yorker out loud at home to Alex Banman after we were married to practice English. I did a lot of entrepreneurship getting design contracts exploring my Chinese ancestry and background. I didn’t have any debts and money. I asked my parents who were in China to help me out. They refused. I remember I was really upset feeling abandoned by the world. New York seemed like an unattainable dream. We did a holiday card taking photos of ourselves with a large pine tree. Later we moved to Toronto. I decided to go back to school. That was my career move. China was always in the background with the new works I was doing. I felt happy. Etc.
