Cables are expensive. In 2019 Hong Kong protests have brought people closer. A girl, chan yin-lam, was dead. Her dead body floated on the water at Victoria harbour. After she was found. She was all naked. It’s clear it might be an accident. She had records and awards proving she was good at swimming. It’s hard to imagine it would be a suicide. But she did have mental illness issues such as psychosis. I was diagnosed later with the same mental illness, psychosis and schizophrenia. She often ran away at home and at the girls’ home. Her boyfriend was jailed. This all proved she had a disability like I do. I have become quite obsessed over the years wondering whether it’s accident or not. To me it looked like one. I have classmates’ friends who worked in Hong Kong as a teacher. How did they survive those protests were pure mystery for me. I remember people showing up at different spot when I was visiting Toronto and different places. It bothered me to no end. I remembered the episodes I had while riding TTC. I felt these are all connected. I got a feeling it has something to do with governments and surveillance. Hong Kong no longer feel far away. It felt close. Etc.
