China is a subject people talk about constantly. Since I moved to Canada in 2010 I have always found talking about China a major part of everyday life. Since 2023 my mother came from China to move to Canada to take care of me because of my mental illness and disabilities. It has given me hope to live like a normal person. It was strange first. But then everything fell into places as she decided to immigrate to Canada. I constantly asked whether she would go back to China to initiate conversation. Her answer was always short. It had bothered me in the beginning that now she was a Christian going to churches everyday. All I’m wondering about was inheritance, money and debts. I have applied for the severe permanent disability benefits twice. All I could do now is cross my fingers and pray hoping it will be granted to me. I think about China often. A lot of my college friends and classmates all went back to China. Their lives had become drastically different than before or anybody in North America. I was worried about them. Then I think about how big China is and feels a sense of relief knowing they are doing fine. Etc.
