My dad, Chen shangwen, used to work in danzhou, a science institute. I was born there. I had a clear memory of him and my mom taking me to a party when I was still an infant. One of his friends and colleagues jokingly fed me spicy oil from a ramen bowl. I cried. Everybody laughed. He told me stories about June 4th and how his colleagues swam to Hong Kong and was arrested and he didn’t do anything. There was a chance to move to the United States and he refused. Then they sent me to Chongqing for kindergarten. When i was 7 years old or six years old, they moved me back to Haikou where they sent me to study in a boarding school. I boarded on the weekdays. I came home on the weekends. Nowadays I often missed him and my mom. I lived in Canada. My mom came here. My dad passed away in 2017 long time ago. I never ever imagined my life would be like this. Etc.
