I just dived in the 1/3 part of the graphic novel, the wendy award. It made me so anxious. I think it’s because I’m an artist but without the graduate degree. The life on the novel seemed to shed its own skins in front of me, all the drinking, classes and awards. It reminded me of the awards at the end of graduation year at OCAD university. I was hoping to get the award, the medal, after I got an award from CEAD, centre for emerging artist and designer. But I didn’t get it. I blamed it all on the fact that professors didn’t like me and my works. They had critiqued my work in an intrusive way bring up money which was odd. Anyway my life is nothing like what is on this book the Wendy award. It made me wonder about racists and racism. It made me think about all the other students and some of them who got their graduate degree. It seemed like there is an unimaginable gulf between us. My life is vastly different than their lives. I proceeded to make up a fictional character, an alter ego too like the main protagonist, Wendy. It seemed to take a little bit stress out of me. Etc.
