Yuling Chen is a Chinese Canadian new media artist. She is specialized in making works about beauty, labour and racial tensions using media archives exploring histories of new media art. She was born in 1990 on the southern small island of China, Hainan Island, in the city of Danzhou. When she was young she led a nomadic life moving from cities to cities, homes to homes and places to places. Thus, she had discovered her love in literature, obsession with identity, and eyes for design.
I was at home and I heard sirens again. I wonder whether it’s those strangers who does harassment. It happened before since the pandemic. I wanted to immigrate. People here just seemed to obsess with statuses. I really don’t like that. It was since Donald J. Trump got elected. My life was upended totally by all sorts of events in the world. Etc.
