Road Trips, China, Poverty

So I did a road trip to Los Angeles hoping for more job opportunities open up for me. Also I was worried about being successful. I heard from a fortune teller that south benefits me. On the road trip I took by the buses, greyhound and Flix bus, I acted really demure and controlled my temper, regulating my mental health with pills and writing. I feel that’s the protocol for Asian women in the United States for some reason, to be extremely elegant. It made me quite uncomfortable because I’m far from being elegant or an elegant person. Is it bigger the country, the more racist that it is? I met several people on my trip. One of them was at the Denver station. He walked around with an Afro. I found him interesting. Is he rich? Is he poor? Is he a teenager? Then on my way to the New York leaving Los Angeles, I met a guy who went to Chicago for visa purposes. He was an international student from India. I found him interesting as well. He talked about how he made a lot of music but don’t feel comfortable posting them online. That’s exact opposite of me. I made music. I immediately sing it out on my social media. To me changing the world is more important than self preservation. And they are all short anyway. But what he said did give me perspectives. After I came back I saw on the news on scmp, there were mainland people losing their government subsidy because of their daughter going to a concert in Hong Kong. I think they were just targeted by the communist government for going to enjoy entertainment in Hong Kong, a place highly regulated by the 2020 national security law. It made me worried for a while. Then I realized people in mainland China have it really hard. Has people forgotten how poor China is?
