Yuling Chen is a Chinese Canadian new media artist. She is specialized in making works about beauty, labour and racial tensions using media archives exploring histories of new media art. She was born in 1990 on the southern small island of China, Hainan Island, in the city of Danzhou. When she was young she led a nomadic life moving from cities to cities, homes to homes and places to places. Thus, she had discovered her love in literature, obsession with identity, and eyes for design.
What will my 2027 be? The question sets in in the afternoon. I designed a poster for a play I directed years ago when I was still in my university. I’m pretty sure 2027 will be all about passions. I love eating passion fruit when I was small and young.
