I’m watching the office. The character, Ryan, came back to the paper company to work after he committed fraud. The big boss wanted him fired. But the manager at the branch, Michael, persuaded him to keep him. The show seems to say that this type of crime deserved second thought and a chance to remediate the moral fibres of the character who stole from the corporation. it had made me remember the real story of people stealing from the stores, Winona Ryder, Miranda July and all sorts of other people. People do give them second chances. Does it mean people are way more relaxed in the west about people’s minds, characters and behaviours?
