Bees are precious. At the Royal Ontario Museum, the artist makes a bold claim about bees’ survival relying on the care of people. The exhibition weaves multiple narratives about bees and their mating rituals to display a world that’s competitive, aggressive and courageous. Many bees need to pair up with other bees for a network of living. One of the most profound installations in the exhibition is a group of cubes with impressions of flowers. It suggests that bees are workers which depend on the generosity of the larger nature mechanism. It has revealed a secret society of which bees make claim about their living situations. It’s a beautiful world out there.
