State Firm, Dating

My friend Lifan Zhou was diagnosed in 2023 like I was with mental illness. She talked about getting jobs as English teacher in China and working at the base level in a state firm in Nanjing. I only remembered her asking me to hang out nonstop in 2019 when she was trying to find a job after graduation. We went to Eaton Centre in the middle of the night and stayed at a McDonald’s overnight sitting in the booth. And then we hung out with Xi Cheng in Kensington Market. When I told them I was interviewed for an animation storyboard artist job, they were so jealous that they badmouthed where I grew up, Haikou on the Hainan Island. At the same year I talked to my other friend Qirou Yang, who I completely forgot that she was in graduate school somehow. She asked serious questions about a Canadian Chinese guy she was dating. I couldn’t reply her because those questions were out of my comfort zone. I was at her condo being invited to hang out. However I was submerged in grief over my father’s death. Can things go any crazier?
