Land of dreams

Land of dreams

C magazine review

Yuling Chen

Land of dreams in 2022 at moca is an exploration of New Mexico and its brazen landscape. Shirin neshat gets a person to perform artist photographer on screen with a candid camera in order to criticize Israel Palestine conflicts, Venezuela regimes and other countries who have participated in the wars. Her meanderings in New Mexico suggested a kind of looming fate or deadline that pushes for the unity of disparate forces of identities to come together with her interviews of different people in the landscape. The landscape is dreary and dream like like a long form poetic poem. Her latter action in a facility reveals much about her depth of life as an inexhaustible spring. Etc.
