Medics – Creative Writing

Medics

Anju Chen looked up medical terms on the web. She studied well. She forced herself to memorize them all. It was difficult. At the same time it was also not hard. She called 911 before. Medics got her to hospital. They couldn’t diagnose anything. She went to a mental hospital before. They had told her she had gotten psychosis, a type of schizophrenia. It was a disease hard to swallow. Anju learned about it on the web. She tried hard to manage herself and her health everyday. She hated how medics talked down to her. They were also confused. Did she have a disease? She thought it was stomach pain. And calling them costed 45 dollars at least. She couldn’t pay. It was painful. She wore a lot of elastic bracelet since then. It was to control her disease like a psychotic reminder of her disease. It was fun. But at the end of the day, she felt relieved. Etc.
