It had made people anxious about the future, money or travels. It is the reason that a lot of people retreated from travels, broke the promises and got annoyed by people who they don’t know, usually loved and lost connections with. I believe New York is a place people often lost faith in due to its capitalistic preference for pretty, cheap and easy things and people. It often conjures multiple images of itself in order to attract the flow of money, real estates and immigration.
