NYC writing excerpt may 2026 , women

I saw a woman in a floral dress today as I walked towards port authority. She was with a group of people. They looked like they were going to theatres. That bothered me because I was leaving New York going back to Toronto. Next trip would be next month already. I found people who went to see Broadway shows in daytime strange. Could they not afford the night shows? It reminds me of the books I read when I was younger, a child, etc. , in china, gone with the wind, the story of the stone, 1984, the lover by Marguerite duras and xiaobo wang’s trilogy of books. I watched one free show from the Italian festival in Long Island city on 7th while I am in New York. It was a classic. I found the show really racist about Chinese, China, Korea and Japan. It must be Donald j. Trump planning and making trips to Asia visiting these countries out of blue while I’m in New York. The theatre people are busy making themselves relevant so they could also criticize him or critique him. The female protagonist dressed herself boldly in satin and silk. There was one violent scene she was shoved to the ground by her beloved. Then she crawl up like nothing happened. This is definitely a commentary about woman like her and women in general. Their behaviors were often rash in terms of facing obstacles, men and anything that’s mildly conservative. It was shocking to be honest. I left the theatre finding out the architecture in Long Island city were like cookies, very fragile looking unlike Manhattan. Etc.
