China has become a fixated point on the map. A lot of people wonder whether it’s moving to China more beneficial or staying abroad. In recent months I have been to a temple that my classmates in OCAD University took me to. It made me remember how right after the graduation in 2019 I have been to these temples by myself to ask about careers, life and marriage. It had dawned on me those divinations texts I got from temple don’t mean anything. I since then have deleted and changed my works making them about China and other surveillance states. I got online and saw that many people were also doing the similar things. It made me wonder how popular these subjects were. China’s urban environment has been severely impacted since then. A lot of people find works in the corporate spaces. Lots of them have shared belief about people, women and states. I recently went to Toronto to do some research. What I saw was a lot of people marching and protesting in various spaces. This happened a lot since then. After graduating, I realized you can do many things that were not okay in academia. It’s freedom. It’s love. It’s justice. Etc.
