Friendship, Repaired

The last time I was in New York I stayed at a hostel in Brooklyn. Frankly it was surprisingly nice. I arrived in the night and someone, a neighbor, helped me find my way and the host was really responsive. Brooklyn was shockingly poor comparing with Manhattan. I couldn’t imagine people buy houses to live in those dingy neighborhood and taking a long commute to Manhattan. But something was very liberating for a woman like myself about Brooklyn. People there seemed more liberal and democratic in a way how they talked and carried themselves. Then I took train to manhattan I was rather lost there in the midst of the tall skyscrapers. People often told me they were from manhattan if they are from there. Recently I checked the news. It was American mid term election soon. The American president, Donald J. Trump, repaired his friendship with the richest person on earth, Elon Musk for their own benefits. Imagine what it took for their friendship to be evolved and repaired. Does it take a lot of hugely funded parties for this to work? It always reminded me of my experience in Times Square, eating a normal breakfast in the McDonald’s, finding something affordable and compromising in the jungles of restaurants and food chains. Insane! Etc.
