Shen Yun was reported on the New York Times as an abusive organization for young people in North America. Its cult like classes and trainings have broken bones. Many people don’t know what’s really going on in the organization. They are often westerners who want to have a good time seeing people perform under extraordinary circumstances. Their posters often feature their (for instance, Cate Blanchette) quotes praising Shen Yun’s performance and stamina. They are like some sort of camps. They have office in the North America. People have injuries when they are doing trainings due to the gruelling conditions of these dance classes. They often wanted their young dancers to break out as stars on the stage. That requires them to achieve extraordinary level of competence in their choreography. I found them utterly fascinating due to their founders’ involvement with fa lun gong. Are they cults from the very beginning?
