Gwangju biennale in South Korea was attacked by China for its designation of Taiwan pavilion. The China pavilion soon pulled down their exhibitions in an angry display of responses on Taiwan being considered as a country. China further threatened the possible trade retaliation with South Korea taking a playbook from the American president, Donald trump. This is significant for a lot of people in China and Taiwan as it brings back the memories of 2019, the death of Hong Kong people in Taiwan which inspired the later protests in Hong Kong. The information migration and flow in this case has made allocation of governmental benefits difficult for people. They are often facing confusing conditions in the coming years without knowing what the protests are about (extraditions). It has made the jailing of the dissent and activists popular around the world. The representations of different artist from different regions become further deteriorated as people argue about the name of buildings and pavilions. Etc.
