In the winter sun, we deluded that people were prone to anxiety because they saw cars. I walked amongst them pretending I was just steps away from an encounter, a meeting or a meetup. The museums looked beautiful. Or it had to. Unlike the ugliness of the streets surrounding it, the museum looked majestic. the streets were full of people in their plain clothes. One of the novelties was they had children with them. A group of people came towards me. A woman said something ugly towards my direction. I screamed don’t touch me or leave me alone. They passed soon. I didn’t bother whether they would stop for me. At a McDonald’s, I met N there for a chat. We sat down at the table amidst tables occupied by teens, small children and caretakers. She wore a pair of black shades. She looked like an ordinary person in the crowd. Her hair I noticed because I couldn’t help myself were shiny and soft as if being shampooed. She looked directly at me when she spoke. How great the weather was. She made me feel I was a doll with a make belief life with her authentic outlook on life. She talked about how people around her all looked for some way out of their old employment. They would soon lose jobs. But clearly they wanted that. It was frankly frightening, the aspect of many people losing their long term jobs. But she seemed unfazed, looking away for a moment and smiled. Living a charmed life didn’t make her pretentious at all. Etc.
