Hong Kong is not a city. The world meetings between mayors exclude Hong Kong. Hong Kong doesn’t have mayors. Hong Kong has chief executive, currently John Lee Ka-Chiu. Is Hong Kong a district or a city? It has affected how people see Hong Kong. Its special status is what makes Hong Kong a financial center, a hot hub for literature and art. I have long been admiring the works of para-site, it has performative characters of an institution analyzing itself within the complex global politics of cities, states and districts. I have long hoped to become an artist, writer or designer in order to study this literature tradition of Hong Kong, its psychology and psychological turbulence. The recent demolition of the dome belonging to the Royal Ontario Museum making way for a better view of the music faculty in the university of Toronto revealed this tradition of upholding the western liberal values from Hong Kong. Has anybody noticed this? Etc.
