Emmanuel Macron has been using private money available to the French president to fund special projects at Versailles. The recent sprouting of the imageries of the fancy palace in pop culture revealed that he was ambitious about his one Europe proposal during the pandemic that got nowhere. This dangerous self entitlement has led him to make the most absurd performance on the international stage, wearing a sunglasses, inviting mark carney to Europe and kowtowing to Donald Trump. Is rococo worth the effort?
